It's weird..... I've been on Tumblr for what, three years? I have a Tumblr devoted to Urtha... and got mostly crickets, largely posting stuff that already sits here... even as I type I'm seeing notifications from my Tumblr of ..... THE OUTRAGE.... over something I posted over a year ago wearing my Urtha shirt at freakin' ComicCon, a shirt that I've worn outside in the middle of Brooklyn, the subway at my sister's.... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

The shitstorm seems to have blown up when I finally posted my recent Urtha commission from :iconmikemcelwee: . I've posted the previous commission he did without comment.... and no reactions... for some reason this recent posting touched off a firestorm... that has "Woke" viewers furiously looking at my other postings and fixated on That Shirt...

I tend to be careful with my work when I post, make sure it's labeled NSFW and all the hashtags are directed at people who are into our little corner of things.... If anything I was becoming annoyed that many of Tumblr followers were into even MORE hardcore porn than I'm comfortable with.

It was bound to happen I suppose.... A premise of a white woman turning into big muscle black woman.... well yeah it's a lot to unpack, right?  But you know what? This is a hobby, not a profession and I use what talents I have to tell the stories I want. I apologize to no one and would be a fool to try. I just smile a little and say to myself:

"Urtha just made the big time". 😏

Sigh unfortunately I saw some of the comments under that as well as under Manic's piece. As you say the outrage is bordering on hysterical. Ultimately I understand that tf art is going to be weird to people who aren't into it, the general vibe should be "meh it's not my thing, but so long as it's not hurting anyone it's fine" sadly the reaction just goes into forms of kink shaming and misapplied claims of racism.
And the problem with the echo chamber of social media is once it's reblogged by one person who finds it offensive and gross, it just repeats to the feed of people who's reaction is the same.
You're taking the right attitude and don't let the opinion of people outside your target audience bother you. The people who already were a fan f both versions of the urtha character absolutely loved this piece as well as your t-shirt and hope to see more not be chased away by pitchforks!
