If you're a fan of my work or others in this genre, you know how important She Hulk is to us. For many, She Hulk is the reason we started to draw, to continue her adventures and of course to give her the physique we felt she otherwise lacked. Every comic book adaptation thus far has its strengths and weaknesses. Current opinions on She Hulks current run are no less mixed in this community. This story in particular was very lawyer centric --- something I think we'd better get used to. Here are some of my thoughts also posted on the Yahoo Group Savage Impulses3:
I must say I liked the story a bit better, probably I come from a corporate background and could really feel for those early scenes. Performance Reviews can be murder since they not only determine next year's salary but the size (or absence) of bonuses. I do feel that overall it's mining similar territory done by Slott and currently Waid on Daredevil, but it was during that period that She Hulk shone brightest. As for the art, I do like the retro feel... up to a point. I generally think the light comedy / Breakfast at Tiffany feel works for the most part.... but I also want to see She Hulk taken to some dark places within herself. Buffy The Vampire Slayer was able to do both and so should She Hulk. But I'm not sure if the art is up to it. As for She Hulk herself... sigh.... I'm used to and fully expect to be disappointed in this department. Too skinny, too similar to other women.... Let's face it I always want the "Three B's" when it comes to my women, She Hulk esp.; Big Boobs, Big Biceps, Big Bouffant Hair. That's just not gonna happen (It's why I draw right?) None of us get the She Hulk we want, only what they give us. We should just enjoy this ride as long as it lasts.
